Fun things to do in Middle Tennessee? Does that even exist? You bet your gravy and biscuits it does! The goal is for this blog to be that place you run to when you find yourself in the mood to have some fun! I vow to work diligently to scour this little piece of earth to bring you an easy-to-use local business directory, calendar of events, personal interviews, and more.
Within Arm’s Reach
Look, I know we live in a small town with seemingly limited to nonexistent options and its waaay easier to hit the road to one of the larger cities close by. I do it regularly and recommend it. So much so that some of this blog will be to highlight those attractions. But my main goal is to help us all figure out how to have some good old local fun without filling up our gas tanks just to get there and back. Fill up your gas tank to cruse the beautiful local backroads instead. Our little slice of heaven on earth can be exactly that if you look in the right places.
Fun At Your Fingertips
Please note that the success of your local adventure relies heavily on your positive perspective and willingness to enjoy yourself. But go into it thinking just that: that it’s an adventure. I possess the unique ability to turn even a traffic jam or getting lost into an adventure. It’s all in how you look at it. Silver, gold, or even sparkling diamond linings can be found in almost any situation if you look for them. I want to make my life’s work to be all about fun #DreamJob #LivingMyBestLife. But not just creating fun, because my comedic clumsiness is pretty entertaining which is the full extent of that, but to show you that there is already plenty of fun to be had with what we already have right outside our doorsteps. I have fun ALL.OF.THE.TIME. and you can too!
Growth Starts Within
All dressed up with nowhere to go? WRONG. Because now you have this wonderful resource at your disposal to help you find some fun. Are you hungry, thirsty, energetic? All of those desires can be met locally.
Because I am so optimistic about the future of our hometown, I want it to succeed and grow. I do respect the school of thought that some believe growth is not good for our area. But I firmly believe that if we stay true to our roots that make us so special (kindness, consideration, and fellowship) we can still grow. Not only that, but we can grow into something even more beautiful as long as we continue to respect one another and the place we call home. I challenge you to find the positivity in everything. Support your community and local businesses so that we all may prosper.
I’ve heard this statement, and for the longest time I didn’t really believe in it, but what you put into the world you get back in return tenfold. Or something like that. I think they call it Karma. But I don’t mean it in the nasty way. I mean if we all band together and support the attempts at making things better that better things will happen.
So we all know that we have an Applebee’s, O’Charlie’s, and Chili’s. I’m not here to talk about chains or big franchises even though I do know they provide jobs and am grateful for that. I’m here to talk about the mom and pop places that you, or someone you know, knows the owner/operator personally. When the #SupportLocal and #BuyLocal movements started, I was thrilled. It’s about time the “little guys” got some recognition. This is where you find the magic in a small town. Yes, I understand encouraging “growth” then referring to us as a “small town” sounds a bit contradictory. But why can’t we have both? Why can we have our cake and eat it too? I say let us eat all of the cake! And there’s a great local bakery we can get it from.
